The journey of Paola Davoli, among the first companies to rise up from the Carpi district in the 1970s, is one of the most concrete examples of how innovation can coexist with tradition. Today it is one of the points of reference for the medium target of women’s knitwear, however Paola Davoli was originally specialised in children’s wear, with its manager coming from a marked background of traditional knitting. The leap took place at in the early 1980s when the market demanded to cater for young women, teen-agers aged 16 to 18 years old. Since the business began, Paola Davoli has always demonstrated an extreme flexibility in its production. From then until the start of the 1990s, the definitive consolidation of the company took place: with wholesale sales in the international market, with a complete trends line for a medium refined market of women between 21 and 50 years old.
The company’s proposed range of products is varied, with an array of models: t-shirts, jumpers, cardigans, skirts, knitted scarves and shawls and
more, enriched with all types of decorations, from machine-embroidered detail to sequins, diamante, and studs. There are over 100 items in the two collections (summer and winter), in a wide choice of materials. Cotton, viscose, mixed artificial fibres and synthetics for the summer items, debuted in advance in May in time for deliveries in January. Wool, mixed artificial fibres, synthetics and patterned yarns for the winter collection, previewed each November for the following year, and ready for delivery in July.

The Paola Davoli clients receive a complete proposal, that has taken on the company direction in the last decade, drawing on the international market. The first to take this opportunity are clients in the Far East, Japan and Korea, forming the company’s main international market today, as it proposed innovative ideas for new market solutions and presenting collections in the major industry fairs as well as in the showrooms of the Italian fashion hubs: Milan and Florence. Paola Davoli is ready to face a new
challenge: a retail multi-brand, which will include the best of what the industry has to offer from the district of Carpi, available across Italy.
